McGUIGAN Hunter Valley Cellar Door Wine Tour


McGuigan Cellar Door conducts daily winery tours for visitors at noon Monday to Sunday with an additional tour at 11.00am on Saturdays and Sundays.

All participants need to be over the age of 10 yrs and be wearing fully enclosed shoes. There is no facilities for those that need assistance in walking as the tour does move through a fully functioning winery environment.

The 45 minute tour provides a general overview of the winemaking process. Commencing with a review of the grape growing process in the adjacent vineyard, explaining the development of the vine and the grape growth through the seasons.

The tour then moves across to the onsite fully functioning winery. The experienced guides take the tour through the wine making process from the initial delivery of grapes and their  destemming and crushing whilst standing beside our 15 tonne capacity wine press.

The tour group then moves inside our 1 000 tonne capacity winery to hear about the fermentation process of converting grape juice into wine and the subsequent filtering and maturation in the barrel room.

On completion of the tour all participants are welcome to return to the McGuigan Cellar door to be guided through a tasting of McGuigan Wines and purchase those favourite McGuigan wines.

Please note the winery  tours are specifically designed for independent travellers and is restricted to 20 participants.  All tour groups will need to discuss with the Cellar Door alternative tour arrangements.
